Research Analyst at Eventide Asset Management

Reginald Smith serves as a Research Analyst for Eventide. He is primarily responsible for evaluating and monitoring new and existing investment opportunities, with a focus on clean energy. Mr. Smith spent five years at Johnson Controls, where he developed large energy conservation and solar projects and, most recently, led the development engineering for an energy storage start-up business within the firm. He spent the Summer of 2019 at Marathon Capital, an investment bank in clean energy, and at Eventide evaluating renewable energy investments.

Mr. Smith has spent over 15 years serving children, young adults, and the homeless in some of the most challenging areas of the country and world. Internationally, he has worked at an orphanage in Haiti, served people in Malawi, and helped develop clean water technologies for remote villagers in Thailand. Mr. Smith studies the impact of the changing U.S. economy on urban and rural working class communities and how to create jobs in these communities. He has also been a meteorologist for a local newspaper in Philadelphia. Mr. Smith is passionate about applying the good news of the Gospel and God’s redemptive work to every area of life.

Mr. Smith holds an MBA with High Distinction from Harvard Business School and a bachelor’s and master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from Drexel University.
