Sheeba Philip is a catalytic leader who equips founders, CEOs, and organizations that make the world a better place. She draws on 25 years of building purpose-driven startup, mid-size, and Fortune 50 brands spanning multiple industries and sectors.
As a senior executive with Mondelez International, Sheeba led multi-million dollar businesses including stewarding the World’s #1 Cookie, Oreo, across 100 countries. Sheeba also served as an executive member of the turnaround team for JCPenney. As the head of brand marketing and communications, she led the reinvention of JCPenney’s digital platforms, helping modernize one of America’s most iconic retailers.
Sheeba leveraged her corporate experience to impact non-profits and social ventures. She led the marketing and communications efforts for International Justice Mission, the largest anti-human trafficking NGO in the world. Sheeba was recently the CEO of Akola, a luxury jewelry brand and retail start-up that provides living wage employment for marginalized women in Eastern Africa. She shepherded the business in the US and Uganda during the height of the pandemic, helping keep 200 women in Uganda employed. Under her leadership, Akola was named a top sustainable jewelry brand by Vogue in 2020. She led the restructuring of the company to drive long-term sustainability and local empowerment, with the company and operations now fully based in Uganda.
Sheeba is currently leading a strategic advisory practice that supports founders and CEOs in developing the growth and transformational agenda for purpose-driven brands, social-impact ventures, and non-profit organizations. Her clients have cut across numerous industries and sectors including financial services, impact investing, retail, consumer, education, and international development.
She is a board member for Redeemer City to City, a global faith-based organization founded by Tim Keller and Lion’s Den DFW, an organization bringing together faith-driven investors and entrepreneurs. She is an advisor for the Praxis Redemptive Venture Accelerator and a mentor for entrepreneurs. She regularly speaks on the principles of Christ-centered leadership. Sheeba’s work has been recognized by outlets such as Forbes, Entrepreneur, and Vogue. She was featured on InStyle Magazine’s 2021 list of “50 Women Making The World A Better Place”. Sheeba holds a BS in Chemical Engineering from the University of Virginia and an MBA from the Harvard Business School.
