Startup Product & Analytics Consultant

William Poon is a native New Yorker who currently lives in Queens with his wife. He attends Astoria Community Church, where he serves as a deacon and small group leader. He is currently a freelance product and analytics consultant for startups. He completed his MBA at Cornell Tech in NYC and his BA in Biology at Cornell University. He grew up in a non Christian home and came to faith in high school after his mom became a believer and introduced him to Jesus. He seeks to be salt and light wherever he can and point others to Christ with his life. 

After graduating from his undergraduate degree at Cornell University, he interned with Cru, a campus ministry, at Cornell for one year. Afterwards, he worked for his family’s wholesale business in sales and marketing. During this time he started a commercial and residential window tinting business, with clients like JFK Airport. After 3 years, he helped to start a social impact focused startup accelerator in NYC called Communitas America. Having loved working with founders and startups, he went back to get his MBA at Cornell Tech to get a stronger business and technology foundation. 

After getting his MBA, he started as the 25th employee at Wheel Health, a B2B2C healthtech startup, building telehealth solutions for millions of patients in the midst of the COVID pandemic. He then became a senior product manager at Mission Lane, a B2C fintech credit card startup building access to credit for subprime customers. Most recently he was a product manager at Ampla, a B2B fintech startup focused on CPG brands, leading the corporate card product.
